This page will be instructions for creating a Buck Rogers high adventure cliffhangers player character.

Abilities:

  • Strength
  • Aim
  • Brains
  • Health

Assign one of the following ranks to each ability.

  • OK
  • Good
  • Better
  • Best

You may then shift one ability down one rank in order to shift another ability up one rank. Keep track of which ability your original assigned Best to if you shift it down.

Possible combinations

Skills: Choose one skill for each ability & a fifth skill for the ability your originally ranked Best. If the GM has specified that you're creating a 20th century PC, the skills in italics cannot be choosen.

  • Strength skills:
    • Axe
    • Brawling (fighting with impromptu weapons)
    • Fisticuffs
    • Grappling
    • Knife
    • Mace
    • Muscles
    • Sword
  • Aim skills:
    • Airborne Combat (firing weapons from a moving platform)
    • Daredevil (jumping, gymnastics, & other feats of physical agility)
    • Dexterity (manual dexterity)
    • Disintegrator (a Han weapon—not normally used by PCs)
    • Gunpowder Weapons
    • Heavy Weapons (Allowable for 20th century PCs?)
    • Nimble (dodging)
    • Rocket Pistol (the standard PC weapon)
    • Throwing
  • Brains skills:
    • Broadcast Technologist (broadcast technology is the chief Han science)
    • Contacts
    • Electronist
    • First Aid
    • Mechanic
    • Piloting
    • Robotist
  • Health skills:
    • Constitution (resisting poisons or gas)
    • Endurance (desert survival, lasting without food & water, distance swimming, hanging over a cliff)
    • Hardy Individual (resisting knock out during combat)
    • Indomitable Spirit (resisting mind control)
    • Will to Live (surviving combat)

Standard equipment for a member of an Org militia:

  • An intertron jumping belt
  • A helmet radio
  • A rocket pistol

For 20th century PCs, the GM will provide a starting equipment list.

Supplemental Equipment: An Org outfits militia members with certain skills with the appropriate equipment.

  • First aid skill: First aid kit
  • Electronist skill: Electronics kit
  • Mechanics skill: Tool kit
  • Robotist skill: Tool kit
  • Melee weapon skill: An appropriate weapon
