- As the industry has become more professional, art directors have done a good job of ensuring a consistent look across a product or even a product line.
- This is appropriate for some products.
- The original AD&D books lacked a consistent look in the artwork, which enhanced the feeling that this was a game of myriad possibilities & something that you could make your own.
- I don't know if that was accidental or intentional.
- Art directors today should consider this. Sometimes, you're task may be to give the contributing artists more rein & fewer guidelines.
